Happy Birthday DeviantART!

Let's join the fun and answer some questions. Here is my #DeviantArtistQuestionnaire. :la:

How long have you been on DeviantArt?

I became a member on February 25 2013, so about 2 ½ years now. I've known the website a long time before I joined, but I was afraid my art would be too bad to show to other people.

What does your username mean?

It doesn’t have a meaning, it's just some wannabe-elvish that I liked. :D

Describe yourself in three words.

Friendly, helpful, caring.

Are you left or right handed?

I'm right handed as most people.

What was your first deviation?

Since I joined shortly after the release of the first Hobbit movie which I loved, it was a fan art of it. It's my first completely digital artwork and I was quite proud of it at the time.

What is your favourite type of art to create?

I started out in digital art when I became a member of dA and haven't drawn much other stuff ever since. I especially love creating colorful fan arts and pictures of my characters!

If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?

I'd love to master semi-realistic character concept art! That's what I want to do as a job one day, but it's still a long way to go.

What was your first favourite?

As I already mentioned, it was my big Hobbit fangirl phase, so of course it was an Hobbit artwork as well! I really liked the style, expressions and lighting. And funnily enough it was uploaded the day I joined.

What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?

I mostly fav fan art of my beloved childhood games, such as The Legend of Zelda, Tales of Symphonia and Ragnarok Online.

I really like semi-realistic or anime-like artworks with bright colors and lots of emotions. And also humor!

Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?

I've met quite a few nice people here, so it's hard to choose!

My favourite is probably DamaiMikaz because of her helpful and motivating journals and the nice artworks which always tell a story. I hope she'll be able to publish her novel one day!

ANIMA - Imprisoned by DamaiMikaz Make 2015 awesome!A new year started. So some words of inspiration for those that want to pursue art this year...
:bulletblack: Don't worry about your age. Do not get discouraged by those that are younger than you and better. Some people start art when they are 6 years old and are prodigy's at age 16, others make a rather late or slow start. It doesn't matter if you're 10 or 80 years old. You're never too old to learn something new, and you're never too old to do something you enjoy.
:bulletblack: Everybody has potential. Even the greatest masters in art started out as beginners. It just takes a lot of time and persistence.
:bulletblack: Don't be afraid to fail. Most masters have failed more times than any beginner even tried.
:bulletblack: We only see the best from other people, and compare it with our own average. For every amazing painting a good artist puts online, he probably made 100 failed sketches. Sketches you'll never see and you'll never know o

If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?

I'm a very shy person, so I prefer “meeting” people online. It's easier for me to write than to talk.

I've actually already met a dA friend and it was interesting, but a bit awkward. xD

How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?

Well, many people on dA have impacted me, especially by helping me improve my art. I didn't know any artists in real life, so this was something entirely new. I got quite a bit better in a short amount of time.

What are your preferred tools to create art?

I used to draw with pencil and occasionally some coloured ones, but since 2013 it's mostly digital art. I'm using a Wacom Intuos tablet and Photoshop CS 6 – and I love it!

What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?

Just sitting in front of my computer, listening to some great music and letting my creativity flow. I also enjoy drawing for other people, since it's even more motivating.

What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?

I've made some wonderful friends, who all helped me in their unique ways. Some with improving art, others with more personal problems. Generally the people of dA really helped me grow! Thank you all very much.
